How to fulfill your leadership potential without burning out or compromising your values…

1:1 Executive Coaching for Lawyers & Leaders‍ ‍

Step 1. CAREER LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION

(i) Using iPEC’s one-of-a-kind Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment, let’s uncover your biggest growth opportunities and what exactly is influencing your leadership success and career fulfillment. You’re also going to learn a wildly effective tool to shift your approach at work on demand to help you maximize your success.

(ii) Assessing your core values offers a greater sense of direction, a decision-making tool, and knowledge of current gaps in valued living we can address to enhance engagement, fulfillment, and authenticity.

(iii) Developing a coaching program plan based on the information uncovered from the ELI and values assessment helps us create a structure for our work together and a baseline to measure progress over time.

Step 2. GOAL-FOCUSED COACHING SESSIONS

Meeting regularly enables you to set meaningful goals with accountability week after week. We always have the coaching program plan to draw from, but we can shift gears any time—this program is fully customizable based on your most pressing interests and opportunities.

Step 3. QUANTIFYING GROWTH AND POST-PROGRAM GOAL SETTING

Before we close out, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Reassess your work and leadership approach with another ELI assessment.

  2. Explore all of the growth and change you’ve experienced while working together.

  3. Set post-program goals to ensure ongoing development well beyond the coaching arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • For how long do you typically support your clients?

Most arrangements last between three and 12 months; beyond your initial program, you may continue on a month-to-month basis. While I am flexible, I highly recommend at least six months for all clients who want to make a successful transition and/or majorly shift their general energy level; clarify what they want for their career and life; and go after their goals with a supportive partner along their side throughout the journey!

  • Do you use assessments?

Yes, I use a one-of-a-kind assessment to help you establish a baseline (the ONLY way to meaningfully assess your growth over time!) and personalize our work together! The assessment I use is designed to (i) help you understand your current leadership approach under normal conditiosn vs. stressful conditions; (ii) shine light on your strengths and pinpoint your biggest opportunities for growth; and (iii) teach you a powerful self-coaching tool for consciously shifting your leadership approach across settings. (Learn more about iPEC’s Energy Leadership Index assessment here: https://www.energyleadership.com/assessment.)

  • Do you support attorneys only?

While the majority of my clients are attorneys, I serve ambitious professionals across all demanding industries who highly value personal development. Most mid-career professionals will encounter challenges with authentic leadership, work-life balance, career trajectory confusion / fulfillment, and self-doubt at some point or another!

  • What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as the process of “partnering with Clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.“

In other words, coaching focuses on your strengths to move you forward toward future opportunities so you can reach your goals. Traditional therapy, on the other hand, is a healing modality, focuses heavily on the past, and is intended to get you to a functional place. As a coach, it is my intention to help you thrive, well beyond “functional.” Therapy also helps you manage clinical mental health diagnoses. Coaching, on the other hand, helps you manage non-clinical, yet common doubts, fears, and concerns that are holding you back by developing a specific goal every session, strategies to achieve your goal, and motivation to follow through.

The coaching work I do in particular is also primarily focused on your career. While we may touch on other areas of your life that can impact career outcomes, our work focuses on career navigation, professional development, and workplace fulfillment.

  • Couldn’t I just talk to an industry mentor instead of paying for coaching support?

Yes, you absolutely could! But the support you will get is very different…

    • Coaches don’t give advice or tell you what to do. A coach helps YOU decide what you want to do with your career and life and how you are going to make it happen, then holds you accountable to following through.

    • Coaches believe YOU are the expert in your life, while the coach is an expert in the process of goal achievement and building hope and optimism.

    • Coaching entails a series of sessions, rather than one-off meetings. Empowering you to take action session after session helps you (i) incrementally work towards your goals, (ii) build positive habits over time, and (ii) build confidence with frequent “mini wins,” all crucial to achieving long-term success.
